dare的用法
dare，英語單詞，名詞、動(dòng)詞，作名詞時(shí)意為“挑戰(zhàn)；激將”。作動(dòng)詞時(shí)意為“膽敢；激（某人做某事）；（詩、文）冒險(xiǎn)，挑戰(zhàn)”。以下是小編為大家?guī)淼膁are的用法，希望能幫助到大家。
1.dare可以作實(shí)義動(dòng)詞,也可以作情態(tài)動(dòng)詞.
(1)實(shí)義動(dòng)詞dare后面接動(dòng)詞不定式to do.如：
I dare to swim across the river
I don't dare to say that.
Do you dare to go with me?(肯定回答：Yes, I do. 否定回答：No, I don't.)
(2)dare作情態(tài)動(dòng)詞時(shí)后面接動(dòng)詞原形(不帶to的動(dòng)詞不定式).如：
I daren't say that.
Dare you go with me?(肯定回答：Yes, I dare. 否定回答：No, I dare not.)
How dare you say that?
If he dare break the rule , he will be punished .
注意：dare作情態(tài)動(dòng)詞時(shí)主要用于疑問句,否定句和條件從句中,不用于肯定句(只有一個(gè)例外—I dare say,但那是一個(gè)固定短語,意思是“我相信, 可能, 我想是這樣”).
(3)在否定句或疑問句中,現(xiàn)代英語口語常用實(shí)義動(dòng)詞的dare,但省略后面的to,直接接動(dòng)詞原形.如：
I don't dare say that.
Do you dare go with me?
dare 和need做情態(tài)動(dòng)詞用時(shí)，只能用于否定句，疑問句和條件狀語從句中。(特殊用法：I dare to say that和I dare say that 都可以)
2.Dare可以做實(shí)義動(dòng)詞
He dares to do that.
He dares not do that. He doesn’t dare to do that.
注：dare做實(shí)義動(dòng)詞時(shí)，在否定句中，to可以省略掉。
He dare do that 錯(cuò)：dare當(dāng)情態(tài)動(dòng)詞講時(shí)，不能用于肯定句。

dare可用實(shí)意動(dòng)詞和情態(tài)動(dòng)詞，用作情態(tài)動(dòng)詞時(shí)，意思是“敢”，其后接動(dòng)詞原形，通常只用于否定句或疑問句以及if或whether之后，一般不用于肯定句：
Dare you tell her the truth? 你敢告訴她事實(shí)真相嗎?
I don’t know whether he dare try. 我不知他是否敢試一試。
I daren’t ask her for a rise. 我不敢要求她加薪。
【注】I dare say 是習(xí)慣說法(用于肯定句)，并不一定要譯為“我敢說”，它所表示的是一種不肯定的語氣，常譯為“很可能”、“大概”、“我想”等，有時(shí)用作反語：
I dare say (that) you are right. 我想你是對的。
Oh, you mean to win? I dare say you will. 啊，你想打贏? 我且看你贏吧。
(2) dare用作實(shí)意動(dòng)詞時(shí)意為“敢于”，可以有各種詞形變化，可用于各類句型(肯定句、否定句、疑問句及各類從句等)，其后多接帶 to 的不定式，有時(shí) to 也可省去(尤其是在否定句或疑問句)，可用于非謂語形式，完成時(shí)態(tài)等：
We must dare to think, speak and act. 我們必須敢想、敢說、敢做。
I wonder how he dares (to) say such things. 我納悶他怎么竟敢說出這樣的話來。
Did he dare (to) tell her? 他敢告訴她嗎?
We don’t dare (to) say anything. 我們什么也不敢說。
The boy stood before the teacher, not daring to look up. 這個(gè)小男孩站在老師面前不敢抬頭。
I’ve never dared (to) ask her. 我從來不敢問她。
dare的`過去式問題
情態(tài)動(dòng)詞dare可以有過去式dared，但也可以直接用dare表示過去式，或后接動(dòng)詞完成式：
That was why he dared do so. 那就是他為什么敢這樣做的原因。
Mother dare(d) not tell father she’d given away his old jacket. 母親不敢告訴父親她把他的舊上衣送人了。
I didn’t like their new house though I daren’t have said so. 我不喜歡他們的新房子，雖然我沒敢這樣說過。
I daren’t have done it yesterday.but I think I dare now.昨天我沒敢這樣做，但現(xiàn)在我想我敢。
【注】dare后通常不接動(dòng)詞的進(jìn)行式。
