　　Plastic Surgery

　　Appearance was once regarded as something we were born with and fixed. However, it is a different story now. Thanks to the advanced medical technology, people are able to change their original faces or other body parts, and plastic surgery now enjoys great popularity around the world.

　　People take plastic surgery for different reasons. Some spend a great deal of money on the plastic surgery because they dream of becoming a film or TV star but they are not beautiful by birth. Some, however, have to take the surgery because of certain birth defects, such as harelip and lameness, and injuries in accidents. There emerges a new group nowadays — college fresh female grads who insist that a beauty will land a job much more easily.

　　In my view, it’s not necessary that people try to beautify themselves. What we should bear in mind is that being natural is being beautiful. What’s more, people should judge others by their capacity instead of their appearances.

　　The Most Impressive Course in My College

　　When it comes to a course that leaves the deepest impression in university, different people stand on different grounds. As for me, the most impressive course in college is “Appreciation of English Movies”, which I like best. I prefer this curriculum to others owing to the following factors.

　　On one hand, the professor in charge of this course has impressed me most because she is not only knowledgeable but also patient. More importantly, it is this respectable teacher who spurs my interest to English harder and broadens my horizon as well. Until now, what she said in the class often occurs to my mind. On the other hand, there are many discussions in the classroom when we have lessons. We are allowed to talk freely about a movie, the topic ranging from the theme of a film to its casting. So, during the talk, we become increasingly open-minded. And undoubtedly a brain open to everything carries great importance to study, work and life.

　　Generally speaking, the course on appreciating English films has impressed me most for it is not only instructive but also entertaining. And therefore, I suggest that more similar courses should be offered in the university.

　　當談及到令人印象深刻的大學課程時，人們各持己見。我認為，大學里令人印象最深的課程是《英語電影欣賞》，這也是我最喜歡的課程。我喜歡這個課程勝于其他課程的原因如下：

　　一方面，負責教授本門課程的教授令我印象深刻，她不僅博學而且充滿耐心。更重要的是，正是這位受人尊敬的老師燃起了我努力學習英語的興趣，而且拓寬了我的`視野。直到現在，我還每每想起她的諄諄教導。另一方面，這門課程中有很多討論。我們或許可以暢所欲言，話題從電影主題到電影演員。因此，就這這種交流中，我們的思想越來越開放。而一個開放的大腦對于學習工作機生活無疑都是非常重要的。

　　There are many pros and cons about credit card used by college students. Some people are in favor of the credit card consumptions, pointing out the fact that it is a more convenient and safe way compared with the traditional way of paying by cash, which is easy to lose and not environmentally friendly. While others argue that college students are too young to use credit card rationally.
